She is a Certified Public Accountant from the Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana. She holds a diploma in Public Management and a Master’s Degree in Government and Public Management from the Universidad de Chile.
As of April 1, 2022, Alejandra Pizarro Guerrero, current Deputy Director of Transversal Areas, will take over as Deputy National Director of the National Agency for Research and Development, ANID, a professional who has been linked to the institution for more than five years and to management and public administration issues for nearly 20 years. She, together with a group of professionals, technicians and administrative staff, contributed to the process of creating the new institutional framework, with the transformation of CONICYT into a new Agency.
Due to her valuable trajectory and civil servant commitment, she was proposed by the new authorities of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation -Minister Flavio Salazar and Undersecretary Carolina Gainza- to assume the challenge of operational and strategic continuity of the institution, until a new person is appointed to lead it, who will be selected through the Senior Public Management system.
