Cecilia Azar has a degree in Economics and postgraduate studies in project management and sustainability. She has more than 20 years of experience in the banking and mining sectors. She joined BHP in 2007 and has held various positions in areas related to Finance, Risk, Investments, and Planning and External Affairs. Cecilia is currently the Director of Social Value for the Americas, and is responsible for the creation, overall development, and maintenance of a cohesive Social Value vision and strategy for the organization, while embedding Social Value as a core priority in BHP’s culture, processes and decisions.
He is passionate about integrating cultural change, strategic planning, divergent thinking and economic evaluation to create a holistic approach to long-term challenges focused on maximum positive impact. In 2006 he received a UNDP fellowship to study at India Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development.
