René Muga has held several senior roles in national and international organizations, both in the public and private sectors.
He has extensive professional experience linked to the mining and economic sector. He was executive director and CEO of Barrick, vice-president of Corporate Affairs, Permits and Environment at Anglo American, as well as economic advisor in the Chilean mission to the European Union in Brussels, Minister Economic Advisor and director of ProChile in London between 1993 and 1996, and director of Negotiations with Europe from 1996 to 2000 in the General Direction of Economic Relations.
