WE RECYCLE

Since almost everything can be recycled, we have several spaces, like our “Punto Limpio” located right outside of our cafeteria where we can deposit glass, cardboard and plastic from the office and from our homes. We have also placed containers from Fundación San José (institution dedicated to adoptions) close to our printers and photocopiers to help us recycle paper that is no longer used, and a special area for recycling electronic devices such as cartridges, cell phones, car batteries, chargers, batteries, CD’s and DVD’s, that are the hardest to recycle. Soft drink cans are also recycled at FCh, in barrels placed near our snack machines.

WE REDUCE

We don’t want too many plastic or Styrofoam cups, so we encourage our employees to use their own cups when they get a coffee or water, to prevent using hundreds of disposable cups each month. We also promote the use of bicycles as a means of transportation so we provide roofed parking spaces and develop activities that reward their use even during the winter. And if we have to use the car, we encourage carpooling through our platform Aventones where people can register their routes on the Intranet and reduce their carbon footprint. We try to print as little as possible, but if we have to, we encourage printing on both sides and in black and white. We leave near the used sheets of paper close to printers so they can be reused for writing, printing drafts and drawing or wrapping paper.

WE SAVE

We always encourage saving water and energy through campaigns with direct messages about turning switches off and the use of bathrooms. At FCh we are consistent and we take care of being sustainable every day.
