Eurofins Scientific (EUFI.PA), the world leader in food analysis acquired majority interestof 52% in GCL/Fundación Chile (GCL), the leading food testing service provider in the country.

GCL is a national leader in food analysis and offers the most complete range of analytical services to the food industry, with a strong competence in the microbiology, chemistry and physic- chemical analysis fields.

This acquisition facilitates the formation of a solid platform for the implementation of Eurofins’ technological capabilities and networking in Chile, as well as all other regions; and will allow GCL further to develop its skills and broaden its range of services. Founded in 2003 by Fundación Chile, GCL employs 180 people at its centers in Santiago and Concepción.
