Talento Digital para Chile highlighted the impact that these types of programs have had on people’s career paths.
“Over these years, we have seen how thousands of people are able to train, find new job opportunities, and build careers in the digital economy thanks to these scholarships. What matters is not only accessing training, but also having concrete pathways to employability. This partnership with Google allows us to continue bringing digital skills and artificial intelligence to people from different backgrounds and territories across the country,” said Jeannette Escudero.
The Ministry of Finance, Talento Digital para Chile’s champion institution, highlighted the strategic role that developing digital human capital plays in the country’s productivity and economic growth.

“Technological transformation and the emergence of artificial intelligence are rapidly changing the skills demanded by the labor market. As a Government, we believe that promoting relevant, high-quality training is key to strengthening productivity, employability, and the development of global services from Chile. Initiatives like this make it possible for everyone to access opportunities in areas that are strategic for the country’s economic future,” said Juan Pablo Rodríguez, Undersecretary of Finance.
Along the same lines, Rodrigo Valdivia, Acting National Director of SENCE, adds that “this new edition of Grow with Google Scholarships represents a great opportunity to continue bringing relevant, high-quality training closer to people throughout Chile. Enabling 15,000 people to access training in digital skills free of charge, without prior experience, is a concrete sign of how we can expand opportunities and respond to the new needs of the world of work.
Today, the labor market increasingly demands digital competencies, and that is why initiatives like this are essential to strengthen employability and open up new career development pathways in high-demand areas. As SENCE, we deeply value this partnership because it reflects our commitment to accessible, flexible training with a real impact on people’s lives.”
For its part, the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation emphasized the importance of expanding access to digital and technological capabilities.
“Artificial intelligence is critical infrastructure for Chile’s development. That is why it is not enough to talk about this technology: we must build capabilities, open opportunities, and enable more people to learn, use, and apply these tools in their jobs, ventures, and communities. Initiatives like these scholarships are very valuable because they democratize access to digital knowledge and prepare our country for the productive, scientific, and labor challenges of the future,” said Ximena Lincolao, Minister of this portfolio.
Flexible training for the jobs of the future
Google Professional Certificates are designed to be completed online and flexibly, allowing people to progress at their own pace. The programs provide practical, applied tools in areas with high labor-market demand, with content focused on skills required by today’s technology industry.
In addition to the professional certifications, the complementary courses will help strengthen cross-cutting competencies related to leadership, data-driven decision-making, and applied artificial intelligence.
Since their creation, Google Certificates have benefited more than 88,000 people in Latin America. More than 70% of graduates report a positive impact on their careers within six months of completing the program, whether by getting a job, advancing professionally, or increasing their income.
