Discussion and action
Promote discussion and action on issues associated with contaminated environmental sites/matrices and their management, from different roles in high-impact or nationally recognized projects.
The initiative promoted by Fundación Chile seeks to contribute to the country’s sustainable development through smart monitoring, remediation of environmental liabilities, and mitigation of their contribution to global warming.
Today, as a society, we face new sustainability challenges as a result of the environmental crisis we are experiencing, which raises the urgent need to change the way we inhabit our planet. This therefore requires greater environmental awareness among citizens, community empowerment, and the socio-environmental enablement of industry in order to operate.
In this context, the Environmental Monitoring and Remediation initiative contributes to Chile’s progress toward sustainable development, enabling industry to coexist responsibly with communities and the environment by preventing future impacts through smart monitoring, remediating its environmental liabilities, and mitigating its contribution to global warming.
Among the main milestones and contributions of the initiative to date are:
Promote discussion and action on issues associated with contaminated environmental sites/matrices and their management, from different roles in high-impact or nationally recognized projects.
They have carried out more than 100 environmental risk assessments, 28 remediation projects, and 22 audits as an independent third party.
Development of nationally recognized standards and tools for the monitoring, assessment, and remediation of contaminated soils.
Conducting numerous training sessions for public and private entities, as well as seminars on the topic.
