The initiative seeks to democratize access to entrepreneurship and innovation services for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in the region, through central infrastructure and support services for business growth.
In Chile, 26% of the working-age population self-identifies as entrepreneurial, with this sector generating around 28% of jobs (GEM, 2020). However, in recent years, the growth rate contributed to GDP by the Metropolitan Region has been below the national rate, at 1.9% compared to 2.1% nationally.

Under this scenario, and under the umbrella of the Government of Santiago, the Metropolitan Entrepreneurship Hub emerges to support entrepreneurs, focusing on promoting new economies and adapting MiPymes to future markets, with the aim of facilitating a space where ideas come to life, democratizing access to innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Metropolitan Hub is a project led by the Government of Santiago, approved by the Metropolitan Regional Council, and implemented by Fundación Chile.
The governance of the Metropolitan Hub is based on a collaborative and multilevel model, designed to ensure its long-term viability and sustainability. It integrates the active participation of key ecosystem actors, including public institutions — such as the Regional Government and municipalities — together with universities and research centers.
This initiative contributes to the following Sustainable Development Goals:
